Day 9 - Tokyo Sightseeing!

After an exciting but draining day at Tokyo Disneyland, the students enjoyed sleeping in before another enthralling day in Tokyo.

The first attraction of the day was to experience the scenic beauty of Tokyo from the 45th floor windows of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku. The sight of this sprawling city was truly breathtaking.

After acquiring many souvenirs, the students yet again had their breath taken away by the natural beauty of Meiji Jingu Shrine. Surrounded by the exquisite serenity of this traditional part of Tokyo, the students made wishes to be granted for their future endeavours. We were also lucky to encounter a traditional wedding of a Japanese couple, which made our day in Tokyo even more memorable.

The excitement of the morning was followed by the ravenous appetites of the students, which was adequately satisfied by the scrumptious lunch at Sakura Tei okonomiyaki restaurant.

With bellies full of delicious Japanese fritters, we explored the Takeshita-Dori Street in Harajuku scavenging for favourable memorabilia. A noteworthy event for some students involved visiting a cat cafe, while others savoured the famed Harajuku crepes. Our hunt for souvenirs continued past the busy Shibuya crossing - students ducked and weaved through the massive crowds of people reaching the next destination, Loft, a shop containing a world full of goods.

Following the purchase of many more souvenirs, the students bought a delicious dinner from the Shibuya Depachika; an entire underground floor dedicated to various mouthwatering foods promised a satisfying dinner.

Our tired but ecstatic students dragged their weary feet to their hotel rooms, hopefully dreaming of their adventures of the day.
